I have nitto dr's in that size and they fit fine w/o any rubbing. I thought I would have a problem with them bowing out from the rim but they dont.

Ehh yea putting that size tire on the front with that size rim would be dangerous.

Personally (MHO) I would not put 275 rubber on a 7 1/2" wheel. 275's are designed for 9" wheels. They will squeeze onto our stock wheels but it would not be safe, and yes the fronts will rub with 275's. 255 is probably the widest tire you can go in the front.

I have seen BFG 275/40/17's on stock rims before, both front and rear. They will rub in the front.

The 275 Nitto DR are actually a little smaller than a regular 275 tire, and they fit quite nicely on the rear.

I had 245/50/16 on my GT all the way around they they even rubbed on full turns, so 275/40/17 on might have a more serious rubbing issue
