All,

Time to replace my tires and I have a buddy offering me some nice tires for super cheap. He is offering 235/35/19's fronts and 275/35/19's. I need tires bad, as I am almost down to chords (just realized yesterday) and trying to figure out if these tires would fit my CS wheels (19x8.5) without any issues.

Otherwise I am looking at some 245/45/19 fronts and 275/40/19 fronts (Michelin Pilots) that I have found fairly local. Any issues with the speedo/odometer going to a 275/40 in the rear?

Let me know what the rears look like on 275 or 265. I have heard both ways that they are fine and others say they are too wide.

Have any pictures of them? If that's the case i will just order a set or rear tires instead of getting new wheels.

275 on an 8.5 is actually outside of most recommended manufacturer sizes for that rim, but it will fit.

Honestly, I would not do a 235 series tire on the front of these cars. I would go no smaller than a 245 on a GT up front, preferrably no smaller than 255. a 245/45 or 255/40 front and 255/40 or 265/40 rear would be nice.

I am running the 275/40/19 Michelin PSS on my 19x9 Brembo wheels and I have no issues with the speedo, but I do need to redo the stock tune with my handheld to make sure it is correct.

dirty is right, it is outside the recommended specs for a 8.5 inch rim, but apparenly it will work just fine.

i wish i had the brembo wheels, then it wouldnt matter.

Guys with Brembo wheels are the same way with 285/35 tires. They fit, but it isn't really recommended since some tires running fatter than others.
