My first change to the car has to be tires.
The tires I have now cannot hold any power.

I think the size I have now are 245/45/17 front and back.

Should I just go out and get new tires the same size.

I do not want a real aggresive look, but would like to fill the wheel wells a bit.
I plan on putting a eibach sport kit within the next couple weeks.

I also would prefer having the tires all the same size.

Any suggestions on tire sizes?

Jim

My vote goes for some BFG KDW2's if having all of the same size is a must. I love the tread design and the ride quality is top notch (much better than the KUMHO ecsta MX's I had).

If it were me tho I would get some 275/40 Nitto Drag Radials in the rear (Dont worry they will fit as they run narrower than the rest) and some nitto 555 r's for the front in 245/45's. the 275's would make the rear look a little meaner too, and provide much better traction than 245's. And yes, these nitto drag radials are fine in the rain as well.

If you are using the stock 8" rims...I would go with 255/45/17 if you want the tires the same size. Eibach or H&R spacers will fill help fill up that rear wheel well. I have Eibach 1" spacers on my Cobra...it made a big difference on appearance.

If I went with 9" wheels could/should I put 275/45/17 on all 4?
Or something smaller on the front?

I always liked the look of the Cobra R wheels HMMMM???
You got my hampster wheel spinning.

That's almost exactly what I have on mine, 17 x 9 Cobra R's with Yokohama AVS ES100 275 40 17's on all 4 corners and they have been great. The AVS ES100's are a little over $100 a piece which is a steal and they are much grippier than any other tire in that price range. If you go with 275 wide tires, you would definitely want to go down to a 40 sidewall and not 45 as the 45 will be too tall and the 40 is just right.

I found these tires at a local Goodyear shop called Fierce.
Has anyone heard anything about them?
They have them in 245/45 , 245/40 and 255/40
Which size should I get for all 4 tires?

Thanks

Jim

As a rule I stay away from no name brand tires, they're the only thing that keeps the car off the median or out of the grass in those oh shit situations, so spending a few extra dollars for name brand good tires is well worth it to me. If you're looking for something good cheap, I definitely reccomend Yokohama AVS ES-100's in 275 40 all around. If you go to NTB you can make them price match Tire Rack if you print out this page...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...&partnum=74WR7ES100&fromCompare1=yes&place=10

At $124 each you really can't beat them, gobs of grip in the dry and wet, I've had 2 sets now and they're been nothing short of amazing.

Fierce are made by GoodYear, but I havent been able to find any reviews on them.
What do you think about 255/40ZR17 Yokohama AVS ES-100's on all 4.
I really dont want to put the 275's on a 8 inch wheel.

Didn't realize you were on 8 inch wide wheels, the 255's would be perfect man, you'll have a little bit of bulge which will look bad ass and protect the rim from getting all scratched to hell if you rub against a curb by accident.

I was gonna add "not that any of us have ever done that" to the end of my post but I figured the humor would get lost... I guess not :)

Stay away from no name tires.
Also stay away from KUMHO and SUMITOMO tires.
They are both junk. I don't care what anyone tries to tell me.

Can you send me a pic of your car with 275's on the stock wheels?
Also, what brand are they and do you have them on all 4 wheels?

Thanks for your help guys.
I just dont wanna blow away 500 bucks on a junk tire.

I agree, but Kumho is a good tire, and is better the sumitomo. Any thing is better than sumitomo's.

Give me a set of Kuhmo Ecsta MXs and you pick your tires on 2 similar cars and lets hit the road course.:poke:

All no name brands are made by one of the big 5 just different molds and specs.

Shop tires by treadwear, temp and traction ratings for a start. read reviews to narrow from there.

Sometime trial and error are the best way.

I would look into Nitto's, not the drag radials, but the regular tire. Try www.discounttiredirect.com They have some pretty good prices.
