My car does it as does my mom's brand new 328i. I will post a vid later but just wondering if belts could make the noise? On both cars the rate of the sound increases with rpm.

I'd guess either lifter tick or an exhaust leak.
most likley a valve lashing adjuster.... or injector pulse... Could be alot of things... Could you give more details?
Whatever it is, its probably not a big deal. Dont quote me on that though lol. But between the exhaust and our noisy ass motors and with all the mechanical parts in our motor if its even a little low in oil it will make noises. I have never heard a quiet running sn95 cobra before lol. As long as the performance is there and it doesnt sound like someone is beating your engine with a hammer then its probably ok. Just my o2
