I am once again looking into either an Accufab or Billet Flow throttle body.

Is the aftermarket plenum really necessary?

Money isn't really an object here, I was just curious if there was a need for the new plenum with the throttle body purchase. I am new to turning wrenches. Trying to minimize the amount of parts I need to take off and put back on.

What are the reasons for getting the T/B and plenum together?

Appreciate the insight given on this subject.

a picture is worth a bunch of words:

This is your stock plenum. Notice the small opening in the middle. Thats the IAC hole. You have to move it (re-shape it) for a single bore.

This is a single bore Plenum.

Yes if you go with an Oval Bore Throttle body , you WILL need the plenum also.

Thats why we sell this as a unit:
"Throttle Body and Plenum"

P.S. sorry for the poor quality of this photo
