I'm looking for a professional thread on torquing ARP 2000 head studs. I believe there are no torque steps, and you simply torque them down to 85 ft*lbs in one go. Of course this done according to sequence.I'm looking for a professional thread on torquing ARP 2000 head studs. What was the answer?
To do it in steps from 40%, 60%, and the final torque value of 85 (seems to be the recommended torque as oppossed to the ARP recommended torque of 100). I will say this next time I get a block machined. I will get the threads chased. These studs would not bottom out by hand even with ARP lube.

I had a feeling that's what they would say. That's usually how I do it. From what I've seen 85ft-lbs is good for the aluminum blocks. I did 100ft-lbs on my iron block.
