I'm trying to install my new 18X10.5 TSW wheels wrapped in 315-30-18 proxes R888. Anyways I need to use a 1/4 spacer. I'm getting exactly 5 1/4 turns with my lug nuts on stock studs. The MM instructions say 6 turns minimum. Do you guys think I would be ok with only 5 1/4. This is a 03 cobra with around 600HP. Also street car only.

Your wheel studs are 1/2"-20. You need a MINIMUM of 10 full turns, not 5-1/4. :dw:

If your spacer is over 3/16" thick you should be using a hub centric spacer. You can use an E.T. style lug nut that has an extended nose to get you more thread engagement.

FWIW

Sorry I meant with a MM 1/4 " spacer + my wheel installed, I'm getting 5 1/4 turns of thread engagement. Even though MM requires 6, I just wanted to know if I would be ok for a street car. I really do not want to install longer studs, but of course I will if its a safety issue.

With a 1/2"-20 wheel stud you need at LEAST 1/2" of thread engagement. Engagement needs to be equal to diameter. :read:

It will take 10 turns to get 1/2" of thread engagement on a 20 thread per inch thread.

Hope that helps.

Extended lug nuts is what I'm running to help and I'm using a 3/8" spacer. Installing 3" studs soon because I think extended lug nuts are a bandaid and you should run it right.
