I bought this car for cheap, 99 GT and the guy said it was a headgasket as it sputtered and puffed smoke from the engine bay as he rolled to where it was parked. It sat for about 6 months, then I got it. It would start, but not stay running. I finally started messing around with it, and it miraculously started idling well, except for a sort of loud tic/ping coming from under the car, the top of the motor sounds fine.
I pulled it out of the garage and gave it ever loving hell, and it accelerated awesome without hesitation and sounded great. When I let off and slowed down to turn around it felt like it was going to die, but revved and it kept going.
When I got it into the garage there was a little smoke coming from the drivers side, but very little and I couldnt locate its origin.
The temperature is fine when it was heated up, the oil was about a qt low, no water in it, had a pretty burnt smell to it, but other then that I dont know what else to check.
I was about to part it out, but if this sounds like an easy fix to anyone, im
