Bought 04 Aviator engine from junkyard. As previously stated, you will have to strip the aviator engine. I didn't swap heads, Aviator heads are suppose to be better. Use your 01 oil pump pickup and oil pan, I replaced the oil pump which came with a new pickup. Use the 01 timing cover, intake with piping under intake and the 01 cam covers. You will have to purchase a 6 bolt 11" flywheel, stock or aftermarket. The passenger side heater coil piping is different. You will have to knock out the freeze plug and install the heater pipe. Overall not difficult. Not sure of your budget but finding a Aviator engine may not be easy. You can get them from LKQ direct for $1300 to $1800 with mileage varying from 110k to 180k+. This engine is in high demand and most Aviator's will have high miles. I got lucky and pulled mine from LKQ pick a part, engine has 211k miles for $400. This is a budget build.
