Have you found it difficult to get traction, launch, etc.? I'm looking at buying a set of 18" Y2K Cobra R rims without tires, but i have reservations. There are chrome Y2K R rims in 17" that i'm leaning toward more, so i can reuse my stock front tires and my 315 Nittos.

franco - i only ran with my 18's once , the day of the rental. my clutch was slipping though , so i cant give you a good answer. but in my opinion if your gonna run the same tires as me 315/30/18 bfgs. chances are there gonna hook better. they are 12.5 inches wide and they have a different tread pattern. you wont have any problems hooking with those tires.

K, thanks John. I know u had the 18's but wasn't sure if u ran those at the rental. When we met at Danny's u still had the 17" if i remember right. Do u swap off the 18's and use your 17's sometimes or r they pretty much permanent? How pricey were those radials and how r they holding up, tread wise.... It's $ investment to go to 18's and want to make sure they perform.

I have my Y2K chrome 18s and have had good luck with them hooking at the track (1.85 60ft on 275/35/18 Kumho 712s) and love the way they look over 17s. BTW I have mine for sale if your other deal falls thru

Go with the 18's not only do they put more tire on the ground but they really fill the gap in the wheel wells !!!!

CHRIS rimes with ?
got the 18x10.5" AFS chromies with Kumho 295's on the rear of my car
lots of spin
best 60ft was two seconds flat with a quarter time of 12.8 seconds. Not that impressed.. I lost a lot of time from the spinning. I have plenty of mods making 502 ft lbs of torque. For a stock car I think it would work out just fine. I am a novice racer!! 18's look BADASSS!!!!!

Here's my website if you want to see pics

Thanks Tommy  Have u ever tried to run any type of BFG's on them?

U have a PM dave :)

RedFire2003, your car is freaking sick! I don't think the BFG's 315's would work on these rims since they only make them with a 9.5" (9") width.

Thanks for the pics, Scott. Beautiful ride and the 18's look perfect on it
