Hey guys I currently have an 03 cobra with lethal return fuel system running e85, arp head studs , stock long block with 21k on it and a 3.0 whipple. Car currently makes 760 Rwhp and 676 rwtq at 23 psi. I am looking at doing the on3 twin kit and curious about peoples expierecne going from a roots blower to a turbo set up . My main use for the car is the occasional high way pulls and sometimes the track. Just wanting to know peoples thoughts and if they regretted going turbo. Any advice or experiences shared would be appreciated thanks.

I’ll tell you anything you need to know. Put the whole kit on with my cousins and uncle. No issues besides a few oil supply.

I’m a turbo fan.
Still have a complete FAST XFI 2.0 with XIM box and turbo boost controller off of my brother’s turbo Terminator Fox.
Great combo. Message me if serious.

No regrets on my si gle turbo build. Pay for quality parts and do the build right the first time.

On3, you will need/want to upgrade blow off valve, wastegates, and pay for turbo upgrades, don't use their turbos from what I've seen/read.

Hellion has a nice complete kit that many like.

regardless you'll need a MA 4v intake manifold, throttle body, throttle cable, alternator, tubular K member, coul overs, boost controller, quality tune you see how things add up.

There will be big ups and downs of a turbo build, just need to keep making progress, it's not for the fai t or heart or tight wallet. I built about 60% of my kit and still spent around $4500.

This is a great community so ask all the questions you want and generally we get the answers quick.

I am aware of the things that may add up , luckily I bought the car with all the major things done to it to support a turbo setup . My biggest thing is I want to do I right the first time and not have a setup that’s gonna make me miss the blower . Something that’s spools quick and hits hard.

Do it.

I would suggest a better kit/company.

It seems whenever I see someone go turbo and trying to use a kit they end up changing enough parts that very little of the original kit is left. Maybe a hot side kit from a place like CG Fab would be a better way to start?

Yeah I don’t want to buy a kit to replace half of it , makes no sense to
Me. But from your guys experience what’s the pro’s and con’s going turbo? I am assuming price is the biggest Negative making the switch. I hear the feel of the car is night and day.

If you can fabricate then get some header from CG fab and start building.

If you can't fabricate then I'd go hellion twin kit since it seems to be the best all around for price and complete kit.

I've got all the Mach 1 parts you'd need for the swap. Not sure what part of tx you're in.

Keep in mind just because it’s a hellion kit for 10k doesn’t mean it’s the best. I’ve seen hellion need work and stuff not line up. Yes with hellion you get better turbos but I would put my kit up against any hellion kit any day.

Actually the hard parts are where you can save some money.
Several of the on3 kits will actually be a good start.
In my brothers case, he made his own kit from existing headers and bought a generic but quality Borg Warner 75mm.
I’m 99% sure he still has the hard parts and only sold the turbo and BOV.
I had bought/donated the FAST and tune so it’s a nice kit and already is ready to install and go fast.
ID1050x and ID1300s both available with a matching tube for one of the best.
100% stock long block and 19-20psi went 9.001 on E85 and 3400# ‘86GT.
Where are you located?
