For the track you can remove the tail gate, toneau cover if you have one, spare tire, hitch, and passenger seat. That's what I do when I go to the track and it nets me a few tenths.

I have thought about this before, here are some that I have considered:
1. fiberglass leaf springs- 12 lbs each
2. compact gel battery- 15 lbs
3. ford 9 inch rear with aluminum center section
4. aluminum shocks-
5. forged alloy rims
6. racing seats..
7. removing sway bars
8. replacing rear bumper with roll pan
9. plexiglass rear window
10. headers instead of cat manifold
11. removal of spare tire, hitch, jack

Anybody think of any others?

Oh yeah, I forgot about removing the front sway bar. It frees up some weight and also allows the front end to lift more on launch which helps with weight trasfer.

Why would anyone want to do this? So you run a 12.5 lets say, then you throw 400 pounds of stuff back on your truck and it now runs 12.9 on the street. So do you tell people that it runs 12.5's?

some people just want to run the best time they can. Why does is it bother you? if my truck runs a 13.0 at the track full weight, do you really think it's going to run that on the street while i'm spinning?

on topic, not for weight reasons, but for air movement you can remove the front left headlight.

I'm sure it helps a little, but not as much as it helps a Mustang. Unfortunately on our trucks there is a big overflow reservoir blocking the fliter from the hole.

I wonder who will do the relocation of the overflow reservoir first?
and relocate the battery to bed over the right rear tire. BTW, get a hair cut and gain .000000001 on your next run.

Another trick is to remove your Radiator cover. It allows better airflow into the engine. Not a huge gain, but every bit helps.

I took out my spare tire and the spare tire winch. This thing must weigh 8lbs-

That leaves me out. I'm bald already.

How about eating something other than the track food. That's a great weight reduction!!!

No - you've got that one all wrong. Eat LOTS of track food, wait 45 minutes, then experience a 10 lb weight loss, got for 1/100th right there.
