Ok guys. I've spent two hours searching the NC General Statutes. I know that I have to check ID to sell a badge, but I have never been required to check ID to sell a Thin Blue Line Sticker/Tag. My understanding has always been that it CAN signify a LEO, but it's original meaning was to represent fallen LEO's.

Apparently somewhere is a statute pertaining to misrepresentation by a membership sticker . . . :??: :??: Never seen it, never heard of it, but now I can't find it.

Any help??

They are used by LEO's to warn other LEO's that there is a loaded weapon in the vehicle. If I pull someone over with one on their car, I treat it as if I'm pulling over an individual who I KNOW for a fact to be armed. Other officers understand this. Someone else might not. As for the law regarding them...

Good point. If a person who has LE connections, and also carries a firearm . . . has a TBL sticker, should they be ticketed for it???
