Was it not a Hewland LD200 in the SRF gen 2? Shouldn't be using 3 pedals in that car.
Nope, gen 2 and gen 3 used a Mazda sourced (Ford owned some of Mazda back then) 5 speed H pattern. About 3 years ago, the Sadev was developed, for a host of reasons, but one major factor was the fact that it was getting harder to source parts, and gear cases wearing out, as the trans was ~20+ years old.

Nice lap, I kept thinking to myself, man get those thumbs out of the steering wheel (I got my wrist broken that way after some contact, by an idiot)

It is pretty much exactly the same as GT. Actually, it's a little more like what GT should have been. There are fewer concierges this time but they are more experienced with the product category. They came by my place a couple weeks ago with Steve Coates, the delivery guy you'd see in all the GT delivery videos, for some program prep. Steve will be traveling his ass off doing deliveries again, but I would expect at least an additional 2 delivery specialists.

Do you know a Mike Severson that works, or worked in the GT program? He's an old friend of mine from HS and I thought he might be doing the concierge stuff but not sure.

Mike is a great dude!

Haha figured someone would know him. He was a grade up on me but we were probably the two biggest gear heads and always talked shit to each other about cars even though we were both Ford guys so Im not even sure why we argued. He had a black fox body hatch and I had my SVTF.

Is he doing the concierge job or does he work elsewhere in the program? I talked to him when tye FGT was starting to be delivered but don't remember what he was doing.

He was the program manager for the FGT.

I've met Mike a couple of times now at FGT events. If memory serves, Joey Hand and I chased each other around the racetrack with Mike in the passenger seat of Joey's car too, which was quite an experience for him :D

Have they released the info on what they did to increase the power figures?

Haha yeah I know him very well.

I can write you a novel on his staggering incompetence, including the chain of events that ultimately cost him his career at Ford Motor Company, but that’s for another day. He was promoted to customer in 2022, which was years too late for all the damage he did.
