The Vibe is GONE!!!!!!

just got home from the dealer. they installed the 04 updated
driveshaft.it is CURED!!!!the new driveshaft is balanced at the
rear and is indexed differently.I'm totally stoked now

Is there an official TSB for that? or do you have to have a good dealer. Mine shakes like Michael J. Fox when i hit 60 mph, had the wheels balanced, it seems better. Hard to know if it's the wheels or the vibe:shrug:

My vert is in the shop having an updated DS installed as I post. Fingers crossed that it works to stop the vibe. My vid occured at 85.

mine was slight at 60 up to 80. 85 and up would shake my dentures
loose,the interior panels would buzz and you could see them and the
mirror shake.mow it's as smooth as silk ran it up to 130 with my tech
riding shotgun he said cool. the part # is FO2R3J-4602-AA.

Mine didnt cure it althought the dealer never indexed it after. I juess I'll have to do it myself to see how it turns out.

I already had the pumking replaced

MY VIBE IS GONE!!! NEW DRIVESHAFT INSTALLED LAST WEEK. FINALLY! THIS AFTER TWO COMPLETE DS AND PUMPKIN REPLACEMENTS. THEY FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!

Don't forget to have them check the halfshafts. That was my problem. It would vibrate like mad!!! But fixed!!!!

they have been chasing my vibe since i bought it July 25th.they at first
put in the updated 03 D.S. and a new center section. then they rotated and balanced the tires. then they tried the half shafts.then
SVT said wait a few weeks for the 04 D.S. to be released. it's in and
the vibes out!!!!

I already had the pumking replaced

to index it, line up the balance weight that is welded onto the
D.S. with the yellow paint dab on the outer edge of the pinion
flange.might not line up perfectly linear, but use the 4 hole
pattern that gets it the closest

Due to all of the vib issues they simply redesigned the shaft or created a better, properly balanced one and that is what is used now. Its likely not any stronger or anything just tighter tolerances, better balancing etc to get rid of the vibe.

Ironically when I took off the vibration dampner to make my flowmaster system work my vibe went away. I have not experianced it in the 1000 miles of driving since then.:shrug:

What was the criteria to get the half shafts replaced? usally threw the oasis codes there is a freq that is involved to tell them that. Was there a EVA done to your car?

Mine had a little vibration at first ( like all my mustangs) but wasnt bad. It seems lately that its getting worse. I may need a front end alignment or may have a tire out of balance, I guess. That could make it seem worse, but I would love to get the new DS. If there is a TSB, why not?
