I have not raced any at all lately. Just haven't really seen anything that looked apetizing. Until the last few days that is. I have noticed a newer 911 turbo and a yellow R/T 10 circling in my waters. Being the biggest fish in the "tank" ,atleast 'round here, I decided to add them to my menu. Mental note: I might not get you now, but I will get you
As fate would have it, I was on my way out of the store parkinglot when IT went passed. I double checked traffic very quickly and jumped out a few cars behind him. I think the people I jumped infront of later were glad I did. I cautiously work my way up on him, as not to scare it away. Red 911 Porsche, 18 in wheels, whale tail with black accents, and right on the ass turbo. Thinking to my self. A man has to know his limitations. I decide I'm gonna try it. I have to know! We get to a nice stretch that has a few lights and decent view. Now it is time! The light ahead is going red! Adrenaline pumping, this is it. Now we find out who the "big fish" is! I settle in for the light and notice it is a gentleman about my age roughly. Seems not to be worrying about me in the least. As I look back over the light is green. He eases off as do I. Thinking to myself he probably doesn't want to run me. I decide to hold second a little longer than I normaly would. I'm watching him in my driver's side mirror. Hoping he'll go! I get to about 4000 - 4500 RPM's in second and now I'm about 2 cars ahead of him. Just before I clutch it and go for third I see it JUMP! This SOB is gonna make a run at me! This all happened so fast. As soon as I saw his nose come up and that car length go away I NAIL IT! HOT DAMN! He didn't come past! Infact he stayed right there just off the bumper about a half a car back. Getting to the top of 2nd! Gotta shift! He gains about half a car! <IMG SRC="http://www.svtperformance.com/ubb/smilies/cwm24.gif" border=0> Now his nose is at my bumper! Then he has to shift! YES! I pull back out to about half a car lenght to 1 car length. Now I'm STOKED! I know I got a tall third gear and if he isn't gaining in a second he isn't going to! Hell YEAH! we are getting close to normal traffic. I gotta shut it down! Hard on the binders. Now he jumps inbehind me, hard on the binders also. WOOOAAHHH! Get that thing off me! Not only did I out accelerate him, now I'm out braking him. I gotta get back off the binders to get some breathing room. Now I'm back on the brakes and slowed down to normal speeds. I'm SOOOOOO excited now I can hardly contain myself. People behind us are flashing their lights and honking their horns. I don't see ANY traffic except the 3 vehicles behind us and the NON police infront of us. No cops, just people glad I SPANKED THAT ASS! We pull on through the next light and past traffic, I move over to give him room to go by or try again if he feels lucky. No dice, he just rides along side not looking my way! That's OK with me. I give him the MUTUMBO no-no finger, pat the gas, and shift on out to 4th. He slides over into the left turn lane without a sound and fades away!
After that guy turns the 3 vehicles that were behind us come past me kinda slow and were giving me the thumbs-up. I ask them did you see that? An S-10 lowrider,Dodge Durango, and another Stang all bore witness to the spectacle! They ALL said way to go ! You got him! I now feel invincible!

Way to go Jaws! There's a few around here I've been wanting to run but haven't had the chance yet. I'll be sure to post win or loose.

Awesome kill, GR8, one of the best, ever. Given the description, it sounds like a mid-90s Turbo, 360HP and (reliable) all-wheel-drive. Him being that much lighter than you makes the kill even better
wink.gif
. Please keep "chondricthes" (class of cartilagenous fishes) fed, regularly! I'm sure there's not much sweeter meat than 911 Turbos! OUTSTANDING!

To be honest I almost expected him to come past. I knew the cars were strong, but like I said I have to know my limitations If I had lost I would still have posted it. I think that just lets people know how honest you are when you can admit an ass whipping. I know I've probably got one coming sooner or later. Until then I shall keep raising the bar for myself to see if I can keep progressing

Man, great kill. A 911 Turbo, the fastest production car on earth. I guess not any more! I love hearing stories like this since one of those totally trashed me in my supercharged '91 LX, and that car ran mid 12's. How do you think you would have faired at a drag strip? My heart says Cobra all the way, but I don't know.

Remember that there are several different versions of the 911 Turbo. They are all quick, some just quicker than others.

The '97 911 Turbo S comes to mind. Those things were incredible! Only 200 made I believe. MT measured 0-60 in 3.4 seconds!

This guy WAS NOT A TWIN TURBO! Had that been the case a $125,000 car would have blew past me in the bat of an eye. I can't give the full details on the little shit yet. I know I'll see him again. Lives within a few miles of me. I'll beat the info out of him if I have to. I really want to know also. I'm inclined to believe Blue98Cobra had it right

I'm putting over 400 on the wheels. He's probably putting 340 or so down. Given the weight difference that should about even us up. Glad he didn't go from that light though. My car is a pig off the line without slicks. Put the Mickeys on and stand by though!

Ever seen a 3870lb roadracer pick-up the Cobra R's on the front?

GR8,

For the sake of arguing, let's just say it was a Twin Turbo 911 that was killed by your COBRA. No need to go finding out anything more. By the way, the 911 that killed my old car had "SPOILED" on the license plate. Judging by the plate and the way he sucked my doors off, I'd say that was a twin turbo also.

After further review:
I bet this is what you "fed upon":

http://www.911turbo.com/turboclub/history/history_964_91.html

It also may have been the '93 3.6 Turbo, which is the one I was thinking of (360HP, 2WD - however). ALL 4WD 911Ts are twin-turbos...I stand corrected
frown.gif
. If it was a 3.6, it would have had "Turbo 3.6" on the engine cover, so I doubt that was it.

Good Kill, nonetheless!!!
