Iv'e got a 99 gt and just bought a baffled terminator tank, will my gt exhaust still for around the sides or do I have to get it routed under the gas tank like the cobras do?

The tank is essentially the same dimensions as the GT tank. I believe its a hair deeper or taller if that makes sense to accommodate that fuel hat. The Cobra exhaust is routed the way it is because the pipes have to pass under the IRS diff housing unlike the SRA that has room to pass them over the axle.

Honestly your biggest issue is going to be dealing with the damn connectors for the evap system. They love to break but you can hit up the parts store as dorman make replacements. Also try and run your original tank down to the low fuel light before starting the swap or you will be hating life. I would also get a new grommet for the filler neck on the cobra tank, you don't want to take any chances.

The fuel neck for a Cobra is different than a GT also. They also have a different gas cap. The filler neck for a GT is a larger diameter. I had to buy a tank and neck off eBay for my Cobra

My Cobra had a GT gas tank in it when I bought it because one of the previous owners parted out the modified fuel system on the car.

I find this really odd because I didn't swap the filler neck on my gt and just bought a new grommet.

The neck in my car would not fit the Cobra tank. It was too large. That’s all I can tell you on my experience.

Hopefully it does. I thought mine would too. But there was no way the fuel neck would work on my terminator tank. I was very surprised when I dropped the tank to install my Aeromotive terminator drop in pump and found it had a GT tank in it to say the least.

After some searching I think you either had an older tank or an aftermarket piece with some oddball stuff going on. There is only 2 tanks available, one for the cobra and 1 for the GT, Mach and V6 cars with only one part number for the filler neck for all of them.

Must’ve been an older tank and filler neck. They both were Ford.
