Ok guys, I recently got out of the Navy and I plan on going into the Air National Guard in Special Security Forces (1 weekend a month-2wks yr)..I was told (hear-say) that I would keep my time in service-and I would probably be set at a different rank to begin with like Officer-Entry rather than Probationary or something of that nature.....Id also like to get alittle more insight on the officers exam I beleive its the Nelson.....Reading Test. Whats it about? Is it basic stuff?.....I guess Im just looking for someone to clarify things for me, I really dont know what to expect and I know maybe some of your thoughts might be kinda broad, but any direction would help---Thx guys---Jon

Sounds like you'll cover some vocab and reading comprehension on the Nelson-Denny.
It sounds pretty "typical" of an entrance/written exam. Another common test out there is the National POST test (covers basic math, spelling/grammar, reading comprehension, sentence writing): http://www.stanard.com/PPS_WE_POST.htm

Your local library might carry a few law enforcement "studyguide/practice exam" books that you can check out or you might find something similar on the web. I would suggest getting plenty of rest the night before the test & do your best.
