Tail Light Swap

[Elapidae]

Has anyone swapped the Red tail lights on the 03 with the Red/Amber tail lights on a 99/01? Wondering if:

A) The wiring can be adapted as is or if the whole wiring harnes and relays need to be replaced.

B) Is it a direct fit (same mounting screws, holes).

C) If anyone else has tried this.

(yes I did a search and couldn't find anything on the subject) :-D

tailight swap

there is a company that sells the conversion kit for this purpose...personally i like the red/amber tail lights myself...very distinctive for the cobra....i know the taillights themselves will line-up in the cutouts but the wiring is way different....check out the various mustang parts outlets to see who has the kit....it's about $400 from what i remember....:beer:

I kinda like the amber. It would look better on blue/white/black/red cars though. I'm undecided on my Mineral Gray. I don't think it's "rice". My 99 had them. It wasn't "rice" then. :shrug:
