Can i use my stock 01 transmission harness with the T56 or I need to buy the T56 harness?
I read that the T56 harness is not compatible with our engine harness.

No need for any harness changes; need to extend a couple wires for the reverse lights though.

I heard where the harness plugs in is on the opposite side of the stock tranny....not sure tho :shrug:

I did the T56 to my 01. I didn't have to extend any wires at all. The plugs on a T56 are on the passengers side of the housing. You can't use the T56 harness, I tried, it won't plug into your car's harness. The connectors are correct.

How did you get the plug for the reverse lights to reach? I extended mine and ran seperate wires to the reverse lockout.
