T56 magnum driveshaft length

So what is it.

I have read between 1-2 inches

Is there really that much play or should I wait to install and measure? If I go 1.5 will it be good?

I went 1.25" and it worked

been researching this myself.

all peeps who have posted total length went w/ 42.5
as stock is 43.5

For those that will be looking for this info in the future. This will depend on the yoke you are getting but I shortend mine by an 11/2" with the Spicer yoke. It left me wit about 1/2 an inch of room from the boot in the trans
