Just playing with the gearing calculator I posted above I looked at a few options. I currently have a 3.73 and 28" slick with my MT82. What closely matches that in engine rpm & mph for drag racing is a 26" tire, 4.56 gear and Magnum using the 2.66 1st gear. Speeds were close in 1st gear with the Magnum having a little higher mph. The top gears I use/would use in 1/4 mile racing, 4th gear (1.32:1) with the MT82 and 4th gear (1:1) in the mangum, are very close in mph at 7000 rpm. With the 27" tall street tires the MT82 OD ratio, 2,000 engine rpm highway cruising speed and 3.73 it comes out to about 66 mph. With the Magnum .50 OD the 2,000 engine rpm and 4.30 it comes out to 70 mph. Not bad at all.
