The driveshaft came out of the tailshaft, and drained everything out the back. I have since researched how to fill it, and i was going to get a drill pump since the location of the fill plug is very inconvenient. A guy at O'reilly's (this is the reason i'm asking here, i don't trust him) said it's just as easy to pull the shifter off to refill it. It seems to me if it's really that easy, i would have heard it somewhere else. Is there something he's missing?

if you cant get the two front bolts it's time to get out the sawzall, the shifter should come out if you ever pull the transmission anyway. And dont forget to remove the upper fill plug, when ATF Mercon spills out that hole, stop filling and put the plug back in, then the shifter back on with some RTV around the edge to seal it. If i remember right a T5 after being drained takes a little under 3 quarts...i would suggest draining it also, since it probably needs it
