Yes it is, if the belt slips or breaks you're pretty much toast.

i seen timing belt break between 40k-100k. recommend replacement at 100k. everyone says if you get a SVTF replace the timing belt right away.

I just replaced my timing belt yesterday and this is what the old one looked like at 89,000 miles.

I replaced the tensioner and idler while I was in there.

was that a hard job? im gonna be doing mine soon! just curious how much of a pain in the ass it is... oh and that belt is TOAST!!! wow, you are very lucky it didnt break
