Cut and paste the info cause its asking me for a user name and password. I talked to the guy that owned the car. Didnt ask what its best E/T was, but he had one all kinds of awards with it in Single Turbo class compatitions and all kinds of write ups about it, so I wasnt going to stand there and tell him he was a liar. It deffinatly wasnt self proclaimed either, actually I asked a few other guys about it to check such as, Lawrence Conley (owner of "Tweaked II" whos best is 6.4 @ 212mph [427TT V8]) and Dennis Kirban, who's been in the bussiness of modifying Buicks since before I was born, lots of 6 and 7 second cars, too who vouched for that. All I could say is, out of the gobs of 8 second Turbo 6 Buicks and 455 V8's (8 second E/T's really arent too impressive compared to how many Buicks can do em) this was one of the very few cars that actually captured my attention when it ran down the drag strip. It makes sence that the turbo Buicks would be the quickest though. Turbo's really didnt get famous until Buick started building the Intercooled 86/87 GN's and even before then guys had figured out how to get those Turbo buicks well under the 7 second mark. As soon as GNttype.org opens back up I can post the passage that talks about how the Turbo Buick was the only V6 to win an NHRA event. (this was back right before they mysteriously banned any non V8 engines) Hmm... Anyway Buick also holds all the qualifying track records out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as well. Average was like 237 or 238mph set by Scott Brayton if I remember correctly. The Buicks deffinatly paved the way as far as turbo charged cars are concerned.
