i'm guessing a tooth chipped off one of the gears in the sunroof motor

or as I just read, the metal melted the plastic gear.

my question is, how do I get the plastic cover off where the motor is hiding?
i'm not finding any presentable screw holes?
do I have to take the map lights out?

i'd like to at least get the sunroof closed, it's open a few inches.

Pop the lights out with a small flat screw driver, then there are a few torqs head screws in ther that hold the panel up there.

so it is the plastic gear that is melted in that one area.

so i get to go buy some washers :-D

what is wierd, is that during the hottest part of the year the sunroof was fine, then we had a 92 degree day just a few days ago and that must have put the nail in the coffin.
