"The number of hits to this bait car website have exceeded our expectations to say the least. The site has been up and running now for 10 days and it has seen exponential growth with the number of hits every day. On May 31st the site recorded 10,000 page views. The next day, June 1st, the site recieved 50,000 page views. As of 9:30 AM today the site recorded over 38,000 page views and counting! The response from the internet community has been so overwhelming that our server even crashed, but the tech support team at bryght.com (the company that voluntarily hosts this site) is working hard to move the videos to another server within their system in order to lighten the bandwidth demand. Our website's designer, Shane Birley from vbcreative.com has also been working around the clock (and volunteering his time and expertise) to add new content and continually make the site easier to navigate through.
The reponse from visitors has been fantastic. All comments recieved so far have been 100% positive to say the least. We will try to post some of them in the near future. Comments have been recieved from all over the world and the most common question is, "How do we get a bait car program in our area?" More on that in a future post.
Please keep your comments coming. We can't answer them all but it is important for you to know that in a political environment such as a police website, public opinion is important. This website is under intense scrutiny since it is the only one of its kind in the world. Your comments will be read by people in decision making roles. Please let us know what you think about this site, bait cars, and the root causes of auto theft and how to combat it."
