Stupid Brake question...

I've searched for this question for a while, but I probably just used the wrong terms.

Do the Cobra R brembos use the same pad types as the standard 03 cobra PBRs? The usual autoparts stores say yes, but I'm not too inclined to trust their word...

In a word, NO!

Brembo and PBR take completely different pads.

Friction Material Standards Institute # for the 2000 Cobra R brakes is D592

Hawk part # HB194 (*).665

* (a letter to designate friction material).

The Viper pads (which BTW, do work in the Y2KR calipers) have a thickness spec. .665" as opposed to the R spec. thickness of .585".

Get more bang for your buck!
