Stripped Upper Alternator Bracket Support

So I know now why the shop that put the previous owners supercharger and Metco Lower Pulley Kit left the bottom alternator bracket spacer off. As soon as I went to loosen the upper bolt, it turned with ease. Completely stripped. Unfortunately that is the front cover. So.... Yeah!!!

Has anyone attempted helicoils on the cover? Any success? This sucks but that is what happens when you buy someone else's problem I guess.

I haven't helicoiled the timing cover, but I've done a bunch in an old set of heads. The good thing about aluminum is you probably won't need to drill anything. Just use the tap and go slow.
