So I'm finally starting to get a stock of parts together for a budget build on my 01 gt. I'm getting parts as I see good deals. As it will be at least a few months before I would be able to do anything with it, are there any special things I should do while storing an aluminum block? I figured cover all the holes to keep little crap out but other than that I can't think of anything. Will it be fine just sitting on a stand in the garage for a few months?

you need to coat the bores in some sort of oil/grease. If its a short term storage oil will work, if its going to be longer you need a grease.
