I tried pulling off my upper last night and holy chit this thigh will not budge. I bent the crap out of the pulley pullers middle bolt. Is there a trick? I've searched and can't come up with anything
Put as much preload on it as you can without messing up your pulley and then get a torch to heat the pulley up around the shaft. Do not put the torch on the shaft itself. By doing so it should "swell" just a hair and will hopefully pop loose.
I got it off using the make your own pulled puller thread now the snout is messed up and I can't screw the bolt back into the snout to put the new pulley on
You need a tap to run back down in the threads. Or get a counter-sink and make the existing counter-sink deaper which will remove a few damaged threads. More than likely you still need a tap though.
