stock lower pully removal question...

Can I just put a airgun on it,does it have to be locked down with the tool?I've always zipped the off with a gun.Any danger to this?Thanks

You have to lock up the fly wheel or its not going to come off

Yeah with a 90degee gear driven 1/2 drive.
