My distributor went bad and i need a new one. I was just gonna get the cardone brand remanufactured one from autozone for $100 but i've heard some bad things about them. I can get the oe part from tousley ford for $250. I'm leaning towards the ford part cause of all the negative things i've heard about the reman distributors. Obviously i don't want to spend an extra $150 if i dont have to so has anyone had any good luck with the reman distributors?

is the dizzy worn out or did just the module go bad?

if the distributor itself is good, i'd just put in a new pick-up module in it. it'll be cheaper as far as costs go and you'll get to keep your OE dizzy.

I'm pretty sure it's just the pick up. How hard is it to replace? I heard it was pretty tough.

There are tolerances to check when deciding if your current dizzy is worn out, and its primarily concerned with dizzy shaft end play. Too much movement in the shaft can cause timing issues and/or misfires.
