I'm getting ready to install a 26 spline input shaft, FRPP TOB, LP TOB sleeve, and a McLeod RXT clutch.. My Question is do I replace the flywheel friction plate or do I just resurface the flywheel? Any Help would be greatly appreciated.:beer:
i have a ram billet steel flywheel i had in my cobra for about 5k miles then went to auto
You have to send the flywheel to McLeod to have them remove and install a new steel insert. They are riveted in so you can't just unbolt and replace it yourself like the Fidanza flywheels. IIRC McLeod is the company that manufactured the flywheels for the 03-04 cobras and they are the ones that can service it.
DO NOT take the flywheel to get resurfaced at your local machine shop, it will be ruined if you do.

Sorry to Hijack for a second here but, I have a used mcleod steel flywheel and I want to do a 26 spline RXT clutch in the near future. Do I need to have the mcleod steel flywheel resurfaced? How much does that usually run, and does it have to be done at mcleod?
Thanks
