Turn the wheel while you turn the key... Besides that, take the cylinder out and see if it unlocks...

i tried the other key today. it worked but only after i tried for a minute..

so i got home and wanted to see if it was doing it again...it is. it felt like somthing is broken in there, as it key goes it most the way then i have to push it hard to get it all the way in.

sooo how hard is it to replace the ign cylinder??

It's fairly easy to replace. Mine seized on me on my old 97gt. But with mine, the key wouldn't turn.
It's a lot of trial and error with installing the right tumblers in the right places.

i know this is a old post but i just got around to fixing it.

i went to ford today and he said something about how it comes in a kit and you have to put the tumblers in...how hard was it for you badass98? i might just call a locksmith, but dont want to if i dont have to.

It's not Hard.
It's just kinda time consuming.
Each slot for a tumbler has a possibility of 1 in 6.
So you slide a tumbler in the slot, then slide the ket in the ignition.
When the key is all the way in, the tumbler should be flush. If it's not, pull that tumbler out, and try the next size.
It sounds confusing, but it really is pretty easy.
