i know the title sounds retarted.

i've got sum play in the steering of my 95 GT. i'd say it's probably around an inch to an inch and a half. the guy i bought it from said if i replaced the steering shaft it would solve it b/c the bushings were worn out. doesn't make sense to me. i would assume you'd have to replace the rack and pinion.

any thoughts on this/??????????

Does your steering wheel make squeaky noises when you turn left or right? For it just started to happen today..I dont know wether i should be really concern or to blow it off cause of the car is old..I hope my bushings arent worn out something even worse ya know

it's doesn't squeak or anything, just some play, it was like that when i bought it. it doesn't bother me when i'm cruising around town but when you get on the highway it's a little more noticeable and esp when you get up around 100, that's the only reason i've never ran it past 110

yes it is possible that your steering shaft could have play. on 94-present cars that is a problem due to its design change from the 93 and older stangs
