Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter Question

Have any of you installed the Steeda Tri-ax in your GT500 and experienced the following:

1. When in gear, the play from side to side is about a 1/2". Is this normal?

2. There also seems to be some play when lifting up on the shifter of about 1/2" - 3/4".

Any help you can offer will be great.

I will mention I had it professionaly installed by a reputable shop.

Yes to both things you mentioned, but only about 1/4" A friend of mine installed his, a few days ago. I will ask him too....

ok. I may have exaggerated on the amount. 1/4" could be the case.

Ok all, this is what Steeda Tech Support said:

Side to side play is normal as it is a remote linkage shifter. You will find this play with any shifter.

Now if you purposely pull up on the shifter, you should be able to pull it upward, but this is not a normal motion when you are driving. If you are experiencing upward movement when shifting normally, that would not be considered normal. However if you purposely pull up on it you will be able to do so.

yep mines the same as yours-but alot less play than i had with the stocker!
