Every time i start my 99, it cranks fires then dies and sometimes backfires. then when you crank it again it starts right up? not sure what is causing it, maybe lack of back pressure? its a new engine i just built and is timed right and runs fine other then starting. it has long tube headers, 3'' h pipe and flows dumped. any ideas?? :??: :??:

Clean your IAC valve and see if that helps.
Clean the MAF and IAT sensors.
