What's the best way to diagnose a bad starter or solenoid. Thrhing to start doing some of the simpler things on my own. Not having good luck with shops. What do you guys recommend replacing with if found bad

Battery terminals must be clean and tight. .

if terminals were changed make sure under cable clamp needs to be cleaned..

a bad battery will cause a no crank but show 12v when tested.

starter replacement...I did parts store lifetime replacement..

ive had rebuilts last 2 cranks to years..during a compression test I went thru 3 of them...

What happened first is it kept cranking even after I took the key out. Had to disconnect the battery for it to stop. Someone said something abt it may be the ignition switch. Do u know if they just mean changing the switch or more into the wiring. Or would that jus b throwing a part at it
