I have a 93 5.0, when I start it the starter makes a real ugly noise. I already replaced the starter the solenoid, ignition switch and even tried shiming it. I don't know what else to try. The prevous owner changed it to a 5sp and then back to an automatic I don't know if something was missed but I could really use some help. Thanks

mabey its the flywheel what kind of niose is it?
It sounds like the starter is staying engaged longer then it should. I know the previous owner swapped the auto to a 5sp and then back to an auto, so maybe he forgot to switch something back.

have you looked at the flywheel teeth to see if there chewed up?
The flywheel teeth look fine. I think I might just take it to the ford dealer even though its going to cost me an arm and a leg.
