Squaring up tires on '09 GT500 OEM wheels

Closing in on 13k w/the OEM Goodyears on my '09; the rear tires are just starting to slip a bit so I gotta prepare for the next set.

My car is a daily driver & will never see any type of track or racing surface. I'd like to square up the tires so I could do some rotation on them.

OEM's are 255/45/18 up front, 285/40/18 rear. Not interested in overly large tires all around. Anyone got any experience going this route & can suggest a good size?

I have done 285's on both the front and rear with no issues.

I'm running 285/40-19s up front, so I know they fit. I wouldn't put anything smaller than 285 out back.

I run 275/40/18 on all four corners. Works great.

If it were me wishing to have all four the same, I too would run 285.

Quick question to those who know:

Is it wise to rotate the stock rims, front to back, when the front rim is NOT the same size as the rear, even though you are running the same size tire?

As far as I know, the rims- front & rear- on the 09 GT500 are the same size- only the stock tire sizes are different.

I did not know that. I was referring to rim width.
