sputter?

Just got my 93 cobra today and during some spirited driving the car seems to sputter when i hammer it in first, could this be just axle hop? it doesnt do it if i rev it up to say 5k at a moderate rate only when i get on it, guess you could say its more a of a fast thumping than sputter, doesnt lose any power,any suggestions

has it been tuned up lately,and what about the fuel filter..my 93 lx used to sputter during spirited driving...i tuned it up and added 9mm ford racing wires,and the sputtering stopped ,my plugs were gapped way to far...check out some of the basics such as ignition parts,and fuel filter...
