Speedometer gear?

I ordered 4.10s and was wondering if i need to get the speedometer gear to go with it. I already searched on here but couldnt really get any info that i was looking for. Thanks for any help.

I have 3.90's and a white speedo gear, my speedo is right on till I get up around 90 or so. It reads 107 and I trap 115-116, 4.10's might put you right on.

one other question. my cobra only has 40k miles, should i get the motive install kit that american muscle has for sale also?

If you mean the bearing and axle seal kit i'd get that as well. Mine had about the same miles on it when I did my gears and it was a simple job to replace everything then instead of pulling it out a few miles later.

With 4.10's and 25.5-26 inch tire use the 23 tooth white gear.

With 3.90's and 25-26 inch tire use the Ford red gear. (21 teeth I think) Thats what I have in my '96 and it's right on at least through 120.
