Spare tire blow out?

Pretty strange. This happened on my dad's work van. The tire was pretty old, but never thought it could blow out when its just sitting there. :dw:

I'd be willing to bet that something at some point has hit it and weakened it or something. Crazy either way though.

How did he discover that it had happened? Did he hear it? I can't imagine he randomly decided to check it.

I'm SURE he heard that if it happened while he was driving.
