Solid axle option

Was there ever a solid axle option for our cars? I got mine in DEC 02 and there wasn't one then.
Did anyone convince the dealer to do the swap?

No there wasnt an option. The dealer would probably not do a swap unless they were real cool and you had a lot of money.
Do the swap yourself. Its very easy!

I did the swap in my 03. Real easy. I was wonering if they were gonna offer it in the 06 cobra. It's gonna have a comletely different kind of suspention

This months 5.0 magazine has an in depth report on swapping it out also where to get the whole set up , I believe it was right around 5 grand plus :beer:

And if you do it yourself, it's about $2600 with all new parts.

It's not that difficult, if you have the time to collect all the pieces.

I just got that issue in the mail. I allready did the swap in my 03. Whats it gonna be like in the 06 with all the new suspension parts. Little bit more difficult to get all the parts for that right now.

It's my impression that the new mustangs will have a solid axel with a 3 link suspension..
I believe Ford has learned it lesson with a make shift independant suspension setup...
