Soft Brake Pedal

I bought my 2001 Lightning over a year ago, and the brake pedal has never been firm, always soft or spongy. First I bleed the brake lines, no effect. Then I replaced the rotors and installed new Hawk brake pads, and also new front brake lines, still no improvement. Then I replaced the master cylinder, and still have this spongy brake pedal. Any ideas? The truck stops fine, but the pedal has more travel than others and does not have a firm feel like others I have driven.

Hope someone has already had a similar issue and solved it who can share the solution.

I went out this morning, took off the 2 nuts, and pulled the master cylinder back. I did not see an O-ring anywhere. Adjusted the pushrod about 5/8 of a turn, and then reinstalled the master cylinder.

The brake pedal feels much stronger, maybe needs another 1/2 turn or less to be perfect. Amazing improvement for such a minor adjustment.

But, should there be an O-ring? If so, where should it be located?

Thanks again!
