smog pump delete?

I am thinking about taking out the smog pump and replacing it with the delete kit, what I need to know is will the car run normal afetrwards? I still have my Cats. Would I need to take them off? Also, would it throw any codes or need a tune?

You will need a tune to get rid of code caused by removal of air system & the only benenfits of removal are.......a cleaner engine compartment & a little weight reduction. There is no "performance" gain from removal...

for the 5.0 its belt driven so you could gain a horse or two plus the weight and clutter gone.
