Heys guys, my buddy has a 03 GT and he's getting a small puff of oil smoke (blue smoke) upon startup...then it goes away. He says only happens after the car has been sitting for a few weeks. Im thinking valve seals? the car runs great and doesnt burn oil while running. Will running a heavier oil solve his problem? ( maybe 10w 30 instead of 5w30?). Thanks

I had a 97 Eclipse GSX that smoked bad. Swapped to 15w40 added a bit more than normal and did one of those motor honey type products. Worked, but once a year I seafoamed and added another bottle.

Ya valve seals. I don't think I would worry about it.

Agreed.

My Terminator use to let off a little blue smoke right after initial start up on a cold motor. It would quickly go away though and the car ran just fine, and actually really well.

I would worry much about it especially if its after the car has been sittin for weeks . If it did it every start up know that would be an issue
