Wanted to start a fresh one since most have 1000 replies:

I'm interested in buying an SLR, and a complete noob. Should I get a 20d, 30d, or Rebel? I'm thinking rebel since it's not as advanced (maybe I could be wrong with that)

What do you have, and why do you have it? (please elaborate in your response if you have the 3 I mentioned)

Thanks

Maybe look at the Rebel XTi or wait until the replacement for the 30D comes out (should be announced soon, I think). The 30D was a replacement for the 20D, they're similar with slight upgrades such as screen size.

For just the camera bodies, the XT is still cheaper than the XTi by about $200 on bhphotovideo.com.

Edit - sorry, misread your post. Yes, the XT/XTi are the most affordable Canon DSLR right now. The XTi is just the latest iteration of the intro-level DSLR lineup right now.

Cool. I appreciate the information.

I'm going to ride up to Best Buy to check them out and window shop.
