I had the 3.4 making 730hp it was a beast and extremely fun. The negative factor was all the belts I went through and a few alts.. If I went back to a roots it would be a smaller blower maybe the 2.9. but twins are my current setup.

Get the turbo unless you want to get a 3.4 and under spin it. Big twin screws need to be spun so unless you are going to spin it 20+ psi(to actually take advantage of it) then you are better off getting a smaller TS or a turbo.
